Antojo Expo 2026 Recap: Hospitality Insurance Insights from Long Beach

October 8, 2026

Tagrisk is a hospitality insurance agency serving restaurants, bars, nightclubs, and lounges in California and Nevada. For us, the most valuable part of any industry event is hearing directly from the people behind the businesses.

At the fourth annual Antojo Industry Trade Expo, held October 5-6 at the Long Beach Convention Center, our team welcomed industry professionals to booth 412 for conversations about their businesses. We discussed their insurance needs and the challenges they face.

Who We Met at Antojo

Conversations picked up momentum toward the end of the first day and continued through the second afternoon. Our hospitality risk specialists spent extended time with:

  • Restaurant owners and restaurateurs from across the Long Beach area
  • Bar, nightclub, and lounge operators
  • Food manufacturers, including tortillerias and beverage producers
  • Local farms supplying the region’s kitchens

We had some great conversations, and it was especially rewarding to speak with the food producers and farms behind so many of the dishes and drinks on local menus. Their work is closely tied to the restaurants we serve. Additionally, each of these businesses faces its own set of risks.

How We Approach Hospitality Insurance

Listening to each owner’s situation helped us understand their insurance concerns. We were able to answer questions and offer practical guidance on what to consider when evaluating coverage.

That attention to detail reflects how Tagrisk approaches restaurant, bar, and nightclub insurance. Every business operates differently, and understanding those differences is an essential first step toward finding coverage that fits.

Insurance Questions Hospitality and Food Business Owners Ask

*Answers are general information; actual coverage depends on your policy.

What does restaurant insurance typically cover?
Restaurant insurance commonly combines general liability, property coverage, and workers’ compensation. It can also include equipment breakdown, food spoilage, and business interruption. The right mix depends on your menu, staffing, and location.

Do bars and nightclubs need liquor liability insurance?
Venues that serve alcohol generally need liquor liability coverage, which can respond to claims involving injuries or damage tied to over-service. However, requirements vary, so confirm what applies to your business.

Do food manufacturers and producers need different coverage than restaurants?
Often, yes. Businesses that produce or distribute food and beverages typically have exposures such as product liability and product contamination or recall. A restaurant’s policy may not address these.

How often should I review my business insurance?
At least once a year. You should also review any time your business changes: a new location, expanded hours, a new menu or product line, added staff, or new equipment.

What does a free policy review include?
A Tagrisk specialist looks at your current coverage. They help you understand your protection, identify potential gaps, and explore options suited to your business.
